Software
The 737 simulator is composed by Structures, Mechanisms, Electronics, Wires, Computers, dedicated Hardware and specific Software.
Different type of software will be used in my project.
In the following picture is shown a PRELIMINARY SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION.
Main Simulation Software:
MS FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2004 + Patch 9.1
Aircraft Main Software:
PROSIM 737 Suite 3 in 1 Modules
This software plus related adds-on is composed by
PROSIM 737 SYSTEM
It is the central component of the Prosim737 main module and acts as a central hub for all other modules. The module contains the systems simulation and the webserver that hosts the instructor station. There should be one Prosim737 program running per cokpit.
The Prosim737 module is the main module of the system. It’s tasks are:
- Acting as a server for other Prosim modules to connect to
- Simulating all aircraft systems
- Acting as a web server to host the instructor station
- Distributing audio and navigational data to other modules
PROSIM 737 DISPLAY
The ProsimDisplay module is used wherever graphical elements need to be displayed in the cockpit. Some planes have six LCD displays. Simulation cockpits often use common computer LCD’s placed behind the main instrument panel to simulate these. The ProsimDisplay module can be configured to display any kind of display or other graphical element in any location and size. An unlimited amount of ProsimDisplay modules can be run on various computers. It can even be used outside of the cockpit to see what the pilots are seeing.
PROSIM 737 MCP
The ProsimMCP module contains the autopilot functions. Its primary control is the Mode Control Panel (MCP). The module also controls two Electronic Flight Instrumentation System (EFIS) panels and the throttle quadrant. In combination with data received from the Prosim737 main module, the ProsimMCP module sends steering commands to Flight Simulator to fly the aircraft when the autopilot is turned on. It will also relay information about the state of the autopilot and flight directors to the Prosim737 main module, so it can be distributed to the displays.
PROSIM 737 CDU
The ProsimCDU module simulates a Control and Display Unit. These units are used to access information in the Flight Management System. Both pilots have access to a CDU unit, which is placed in the center console, next to the throttles. The ProsimCDU module does not distinguish between a “captain CDU” and a “First Officer CDU”. Multiple instances of the program can be started to create as many CDU’s as required. All CDU’s will be linked through the Prosim737 main program and will display the same information. The module can also be used outside of the cockpit, so preflight data entry can be done in a different location.
PROSIM 737 PANEL
ProSim737 Panel is an optional program that can be used to view and/or control the panels in the aircraft.
PROSIM 737 ADDS-ON

Aerosoft Budapest Mega Airport
Product Description: (from Aerosoft Product Page)
A pretty nice scenery of the Budapest main airport, Ferihegy International Airport and the capital with photorealistic ground textures and extensive autogen. This full FSX scenery has been created by Andras Kozma (a native of Budapest) and well known for his award winning scenery projects! Budapest is the capital of Hungary and one of the oldest cities in Central Europe. It’s history is rich and varied, with many highlights and several very sad periods. With Hungary being the odd one out in the Soviet Block (it had more freedom then the other Eastern European states) it was able to recover from the devastation of the last part of World War II with much more style and feeling for its history then most other cities in Eastern Europe. As the thousands of tourists can testify to, it is a city that certainly deserves a visit. The Budapest main airport, Ferihegy International Airport is the most important airport in Hungary and has handled over 8 million passengers last year. Large enough to handle B747 (and most likely the A380) it has connections to most European airports and has recently seen a big increase in low costs airline flights. Malév Hungarian Airlines is the main Hungarian airline and it has its home base at Ferihegy. Malév and Delta operate flights from Budapest to New York. The three main terminals (1, 2A, 2B) and the General aviation terminal will be joined by a new Freight terminal soon and companies like UPS are starting to use Ferihegy more and more. Most striking on the airport is for sure the control tower, a large structure build up from ground level on two massive pillars.
FS2004 edition only! The city is fully covered with detailed buildings and monuments. All the additional airports around Budapest (LHBS, LHDK, LHFH, LHGD, LHHH and LHTL) are included as well in great detail. It is NOT possible to add all of this to the FSX version due to framerate limitations.
(Images from Aerosoft Web Site: www.aerosoft.com)
Budapest main features:
- Highly detailed taxiway and runway layout, with high definition textures
- Fully compatible with standard and third party AI-Traffic
- Full winter textures
- Full night textures

- Very high number of objects on tarmac
- Superb optimization on every view angle so frame rates are stable
- A version of this scenery is used in Malév simulators at Ferihegy!

Aerosoft Lissabon Mega Airport
Product Description: (from Aerosoft Product Page)
Visit the Mega Airport Lisbon the main airport of Portugals capital. Michael Kopatz and Peter Werlitz recreated the airport up to the smallest detail incl. all buildings and installations, docking systems and all the features you expected from a modern scenery development in FSX and FS2004. Lisbon Airport is the main international gateway to Portugal and a major European hub. It is one of the largest airports in Southern Europe. The airport has two main runways, capable of accommodating large-size aircraft such as the Boeing 747. Before the existence of the actual Lisbon Airport, Lisbon was served by an aerodrome called “Campo Internacional de Aterragem” located in Alverca. At the end of the 50´s Cabo Ruivo was closed and all the air operations were transferred to Portela. In 2007, the airport handled 13 392 059 passengers and 82 879 tonnes of cargo and it is the main base-hub of the national Portuguese airline TAP-Air Portugal. The Airport ground texture is based on a high detailed areal image. All buildings, lighting systems, navigation beacons and of course the layout of taxiways and runways have been recreated to perfection. Static aircraft can be de-activated to make room for the AI traffic. Runway 03/21 in Lisbon has two special Rapid Exit Taxiways, RET`s. These taxiways (HN and HS) allow the aircraft to leave the runway at high speed. Despite the whole range of objects, details and features, the frame rate remains excellent.
